Patio Planning

I have been working on organizing my patio more.  It had been getting a bit overcluttered, so I've trimmed out a few things and rearranged others.  The scheffela tree I was thinking of getting rid of, I took another look at and decided it was mostly one large extension growing at a 45 degree angle which was taking too much room.  So I brought out a good kitchen knife (No, I don't know where my hacksaw is) and sawed it off.  I had recently purchased this post? designed to hold a candle outside, it is the perfect stake for my fuchsia.  This fuchsia is 3-4 years old, I'd been waiting forever for it to bloom, it's finally doing so.  I will say, for being slow to blossom, those blooms will last a very long time.

My daughter mentioned to me that I really wanted people to know this was my garden.  I hadn't noticed that before!  But we'll just call this my garden wall.

For my new arch I received for Mother's Day, I needed a bit more shade, it being in a very sunny spot.  Not having the plants ready to trellis up to the top, I decided to put some artifical vines up there.  Joann's was having a sale on some spring vines, so I got 2 yellow forsythia vines, with the idea of putting a green vine among them, when I find one of those on sale.  Wanting to make a nice cover for the bench underneath, I brought down an old sheet and put it on for size.  Wouldn't you know, I didn't even get that thing placed but what Missy hopped up there and claimed it as her own.  I do believe I stated that my cats would get to enjoy it more than me.  Oh well, I'll nab it and wash it up soon, then finish up a quick bench cushion with ruffle.  Now to find some nice material for some cushions.  I'm seeing this as my new favorite summer reading spot. If I can get the cats to share.

You fuchsia is very pretty, Jane. And it's so cute how Missy liked your new reading spot; it's very lovely indeed.

Thanks Olga. It occurs to me I need to take some closeups when its more in bloom. I'm learning that what looks like nice close pictures on your monitor at home don't say too much when you post them here.

Thank you, Julie. We'll see how well sewing that cushion comes.

Cute post!
Cute Missy!
What a lovely spot to relax--a haven!
A great idea to add faux vine until the real stuff grows in, I wouldn't have known it wasn't real, if you hadn't said so!
I would love to sit out here and drink iced tea and chat with you about sewing ;)
Hugs to you, Jane!

I miss having a little patio area to sit in. They make the perfect little hide away. I think yours looks darling and I'm a sign person too, so I love your signs.

Hugs,
Joanne

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm! Thanks so much for leaving such a wonderful comment on my post - your kind words mean so much to me! Welcome to blogland, isn't it fun? There are so many talented and fun people out there, and I've been so inspired by them! I love your garden post and the blooming fuchsia - I'm so jealous!!! It's too cold here for me to keep one and I think I've killed every fuchsia hanging basket I ever purchased. LOL, but those poor plants. Looking forward to seeing more of your blog. Funny story about your cat, FHFB found our cat sleeping on the laptop yesterday, I guess it was the warmest spot in the house! Ciao, bella!
